Towards Tiananmen Square
There is a touching story of 36 courageous people from 12 countries who made a secret journey to Tiananmen Square in Beijing, China in November of 2001, in support of fellow Falun Dafa practitioners in China who have been enduring persecution from the Chinese Communist Party.

The journey of this group to the city square is captured in this 52-minute movie production, which shows the 36 practitioners of Falun Dafa meeting for the first time at Tiananmen square and raising their banner stating “Falun Dafa is Good” as thousands of Chinese have before them.
The 2 Aspects of their Journey
From one aspect, they were saying to the Chinese practitioners of Falun Dafa: you are not alone, we hear you, we feel you, and we are here in the same place you have been calling for justice every day just to experience for a single day what you have been going through for years.
The situation of a Falun Gong practitioners in China explained in the movie by Joel Chipkar, a practitioner and member of the group from Canada: “Their entire life is bombarded with persecution from their workplaces to the schools. They are dehumanized in the eyes of Chinese society. If they go for legal representation, the lawyers are persecuted. There is nowhere else they can go except into the public to show their innocence. So, they go to Tiananmen Square. And as westerners, we must support them”
On the other hand, these people from 12 countries around the world were also calling for attention from the international communities about the brutality of the Chinese Communist Party’s persecution of Falun Dafa. They were bringing wider attention to the tens of thousands who had been dragged from this square to detention, torture, just for practicing Falun Gong.
By doing so, they are setting an unparallel protest against the unfair persecution of Falun Gong in China.
From the beginning of the film, it is evident that the journey was full of uncertainty and risk, as just few minutes into the movie a Canadian practitioner stated “I was too scared”
